Doug is vision impaired for 3 years due to diabetes. He did not attend regular check up with the family physician and that led to his blindness.
Doug to Jamaica in 2016, he stayed in Montego Bay and visited the parish of Somerton located in the hills of North St. James, where the Bibleway Church is located.
It was during his interaction with members of this community he realize there was a desperate need for a medical clinic. The People are poor and unable to go to the doctor due to distance to travel and no money to pay for medical visits, or medication if needed.
It was at that point that Doug decided to form Merciful Foundation International, a non-profit organization to help poor communities.
One current project Merciful Foundation International is doing is a campaign to raise funds for a Portable Blood Analyzer.
