About Us

Grace and Peace be multiplied to you.

The Merciful Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that helps communities in the island of Jamaica.  The first project is the Parish of St. James, Somerton where the International Bible Way Church is located serving the parish of St. James in Jamaica as well as the surrounding communities for over 50 years.

The community of Somerton is located in the hills of Northern St. James, Jamaica. The Bible Way Church has been a safe haven as well as a place of worship for Community of Somerton and surrounding communities. The church building has been for the most part dilapidated and in great need of restoration.

Bible Way Pentecostal Church was in need of extensive internal and external restoration & renovations. For  many years there was no road leading to this church which is located on a hilltop. In Sumner 2017 a generous donation of $10,000 was given and   Phase #1 – Building the Road as well as building a ramp for people that are physically challenged was started. Major renovations have also started in the main sanctuary which includes purchasing 12 ceilings fans and lights.

We are now in the 2nd Phase of the renovation and rebuilding project. Phase 2 includes: Renovating the bottom (main) floor main hall with a kitchen and washroom. Our plan includes housing a school to accommodate both junior and senior kindergarten children. This will further provide developmental opportunities for our young children.  Phase 1&2 has enabled Employment opportunities for members of the community that are unable to get a job due to lack education.

We also have a Medical Walk-In clinic for the community and surrounding members of this community who has no access to medical attention, and most cannot afford medical treatment.  Dr. Harvey Crawford, Consultant, Haematologist/Oncologist who works out of the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, Jamaica has graciously donated his time to see the local members with medical issues on a bi-monthly basis. We are grateful to Dr. Crawford for volunteering his time to our community.

You will be blessed and happy to know that your contributions will greatly help the various projects which caters to the spiritual, wellness & physical, educational, and moral development of our children and youth and community in general. We would like to thank you in advance for your kind consideration.

A few months later they started to build the road. By August construction went underway. The last day before I left Jamaica in August I was able to walk up the road to the church. I am very thankful to God I was given a chance to be a part of the rebuilding and restoration of this church and the community.

There is so much more to be done for this community, such as education, employment, mental, spiritually and physical health. You can be a part of this great restoration of this lost and forgotten community with your donation. God Bless you and Thank you in Advance for your support.
